Healthy Futures Youth Alliance. Hey Daniel
Every kid deserves a healthy start.
We're a nonprofit working with families, schools, and communities to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic in America — through better food access, more active play, and support that meets kids where they are.
Get involvedSee our workThe challenge
A growing crisis for America's youth
children affected
Roughly one in five U.S. children and teens ages 2–19 lives with obesity — more than triple the rate of the 1970s.
health risks
Childhood obesity raises the risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, joint problems, and depression — often carried into adulthood.
burden
Rates are highest in communities with fewer grocery stores, safe parks, and health resources. Zip code shouldn't decide a child's health.

Our work
Practical programs, real results
Obesity isn't about willpower. It's about environment. We change the environment.
Fresh food access
Partnering with schools, food banks, and local growers to bring fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy meals to neighborhoods that need them most.
Active play
Free after-school and summer programs that make movement fun — sports, dance, and outdoor play for kids of every ability.
Family nutrition education
Hands-on cooking classes and simple, affordable meal guides that help families build healthy habits together.
Policy & advocacy
Working with local leaders for healthier school meals, safe routes to school, and more parks and green space.
Our approach
Kind, judgment-free, family-centered
Weight stigma harms kids. We focus on health, not size — building confidence, joy in movement, and a positive relationship with food. Every program is shaped with the families and communities we serve.
